One of the most common phrases on today’s society is “I don’t have time for that”, What we really mean is that we are so stressed trying to do way to many things. At the end of the day every person on this planet has been given the same 24 hours every day.
However when we try to find “some time” to include God in our already busy schedule, we realize we can’t fit anything else and we put aside the most important activity from our lives.
It’s very interesting that the reason why Jesus died on the cross was to restore our communion with the Father. When he died he tore the veil that separated us from God’s Holy presence and gave us a free access to him. It is that important to God that we have a relationship with him. The veil that once was between God and us is gone, but sometimes we create our own veils that won’t allow us to fully enjoy God’s presence. Some of this veils could be “I have a lot of work to do”, “I need to sleep a little bit more”, “I don’t have the perfect place to have a relationship with God” and so on. If I were to ask you right now what is the veil that is standing between God’s presence and you, what would be your answer ? (Take a moment to think about this)
I have two more questions for you; what can you do to remove that veil from your life? And, what are you doing to remove that veil?
The only veil that separated us from a personal relationship with God and we could not break has been removed by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. It is up to us to remove any other veil we might have in our relationship with the Lord.
By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy PlaceGod did his part, now it’s our turn to do ours. The sacrifices we make to spend time with God will never compare with the sacrifice He made so we can enjoy that same time with him. You will never regret to put God first in your schedule, I guarantee!
